James L. Milam, M.D.
President, Illinois State Medical Society

James L. Milam, M.D., is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist from Libertyville. In private practice in Vernon Hills for 19 years, he is on active staff at Lake Forest Hospital and Advocate Condell Medical Center.  Dr. Milam is immediate past president of the Condell medical staff.

A member of ISMS since 1991, Dr. Milam most recently served as president-elect  and was district trustee for seven years.   In addition, he served several years on various councils and committees.  Locally, Dr. Milam is active with the Lake County Medical Society, where he is a past-president, and he is a current member of the Illinois delegation to the America Medical Association.

Dr. Milam received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico.   He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.

Dr. Milam’s term as president runs through April 2010.
