2012 promises to be a watershed year for the direction of health care policy in this country.? At that point the United States will move decidedly toward even more government intervention or, let’s hope, greater economic freedom.? The direction that is taken 4 years hence, though, will largely be influenced by what thought leaders do in the interim.? John Garven, President of Benico, Ltd. and current President of the Illinois State Association of Health Underwriters presented on the subject of “Where is the financing of health care headed?”, and he offered some very practical tips on how insurance professionals, as centers of influence, can truly shape the direction that is ultimately taken regardless of which party controls the White House or Congress.
